Give the Gift of Security on December 1

2015-eat-sleep-give-300x300Ever heard of #GivingTuesday? Since it was founded in 2012, it has been growing in popularity with more than 30,000 organizations in 68 countries celebrating it in 2014 alone. So what’s it all about?

Occurring this year on December 1, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Its purpose is to inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

This will be the first year that the Mill has participated and we need your help. #GivingTuesday will kick off TTMAC’s end of year fundraising campaign. One of the goals of the campaign is to raise $1,000 to fund the purchase and installation of security cameras at the Mill property. In recent months, there has been a rash of destructive behavior at the Mill resulting in some interior stones being displaced and the removal of protective lead sheeting. Unfortunately, without surveillance, it is impossible to know who has been damaging the site. Cameras will enable TTMAC to better collaborate with local police and to deter additional vandalism.

Fortunately, there’s never been a better time to participate in #GivingTuesday because this year it’s easier than ever to donate. In addition to traditional donations by mail or via our website, you can now make a donation through Facebook and twitter. Simply reply ‪#‎donate‬ + any $ amount (ex:#donate$10) to any post. You’ll receive a one time link to register with GoodWorld and that’s it! Every other time you #donate it will be automatic. No other registration required!

So, help us reach our $1,000 goal to provide security cameras to protect the Mill. Join us online during #GivingTuesday or #donate anytime.

Thank you for your support!
